Renewed push for after-school program funding

Students, parents and teachers in Baltimore City are once again calling on city leaders to restore funding for after school programs.

A group from Child First Authority and Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development (BUILD) will appear before the Baltimore City Council Monday, asking for a plan to restore $4.2 million.

An estimated 600 people are expected to rally for the funding.

In March, city leaders pledged to work to return the funding.

"Of all the years, of all the times for this, now to be the time that this money is taken back is wrong,” City Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke said at the time.
