The neighborhood grocery store chain Streets Markets Cafe plans to open its second Baltimore location by 2020, the company announced in a release Wednesday.

The company signed a lease with MCB Real Estate for a 23,000 square-foot space at the new Yards 56 development at 5601 Eastern Ave., on the edge of Greektown.

The company currently operates seven locations between Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C. Their first store opened in Baltimore in 2015, at the intersection of N. Charles Street and Saratoga Street.

The stores emphasize their selection of fresh produce, seafood, meat, packaged goods, baked goods, household products and prepared meals, focusing on organic and natural goods.

"We believe that our concept caters to urban-oriented shoppers looking for a well-curated variety of organic, conventional, local and international items in a convenient, small store format," said Vice President of Hanna Food Distributors/Streets Market Campbell Burns. "Our stores are filled with fresh produce, groceries, grab & go items, meat and seafood, baked goods, coffee, tea, pet products, household goods and much more. We take great pride in our close relationship with our customers and look forward to our future on Eastern Avenue.”
