Separate overnight shootings left two men injured on Baltimore's Eastside

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police are investigating two overnight shootings on the city's east-side.

According to police, the first call came in at 11:54 p.m. Tuesday for a reported shooting in the 1700 block of Homestead Avenue. There, officers found a 30-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his body.

He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

By Monday, police upgraded the shooting to a homicide as the victim succumbed to his injuries. Tuesday he was identified as David Lane.

Early Wednesday morning, officers responded to an area hospital to for a walk-in shooting victim. When police arrived, they found a 48-year old man being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.

Detectives leading the investigation believe he was in the 400 block of Ilchester Avenue when he was shot.
