Her nickname is Luna Lovegood. She is not the character from Harry Potter. She is a young grey seal undergoing treatment at the National Aquarium's Animal Care Center.
She arrived there on May 23 after she was found stranded in Ocean City. Luna was suffering from pneumonia and cuts on her body. Veterinarian took a look at her. She also had lungworms and was dehydrated.
Nine days later, Luna was doing better. She still can eat on her own, but she is getting help from the aquarium's experts.
Luna is the second seal to be admitted to the Animal Care Center in 2017. A male seal nicknamed Phil came to the center in April. Luna and Phil will be kept in separate pools during their stay.
The National Aquarium set up a blog if you would like to follow Luna's recovery.
