BALTIMORE — Honoring the late Congressman Elijah Cummings by helping our scholars.
The University of Maryland's School of Law started a scholarship in Cummings' name. He graduated from the school in 1976.
Through the scholarship, $50,000 will be awarded to one student each year who has interest in public service and has a record of academic excellence.
The school will also honor Cummings' memory by awarding him the lifetime achievement award in April.
He will be the second recipient since the award was established in 2016.
