BALTIMORE — Giving Baltimore youth hope and a safe space.

Mayoral candidate Carlmichael "Stokey" Cannady and Terry "Uncle T" Williams partnered to host a 'Save the Youth Rally' at 'Challenge to Change' in East Baltimore.

On Friday, they gave young men dinner, resources and support in an effort to start the weekend without any violence.

"It's a population of kids that we deal with that because it's so easy to ignore them because they can't related to them they'd rather not acknowledge them," said Antonio Moore. "So for this program it allows kids that usually feel left out of spaces and engage them in a way that is conducive and response to their needs."

In 18 months, Uncle T's program has helped more than 500 kids.
