The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run was in Baltimore Wednesday.

An international team of runners from eight different countries are passing a peace torch along an 11-thousand mile route in over 1,000 cities and towns in North America. The run is encouraging peace, harmony, and friendship with youth and local citizens.

An estimated 50,000 children are expected to participate in the run.

Wednesday, runners visited Armistead and Matthew Henson Elementary Schools in Baltimore.

In each stop, runners offer education presentations that promote self-esteem and the oneness of humanity.

For over 30 years, the peace run has traveled through more than 150 nations across the world.
In 2018, the run will link Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. during the 4-month journey.
