The story of Romeo and Juliet is being performed at the Lyric in honor of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death. It marks the end of the 2015-16 season.

This version is different from the original -- it's performed in French with English surtitles. A few characters have also been added and taken away from the story line.

"For anyone that's not a frequent opera-goer, I think this is a great one to go to because people know Shakespeare, and then you just layer some beautiful music on top of that," said Jeffrey Williams, who plays the role of Paris in the performance.

Romeo and Juliet will be playing through Sunday. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased through Ticket Master. Enter the offer code 'LOVE' for a 25 percent discount.
