After a shooting, an armed robbery, and multiple drug problems the Purple Store Deli & Grocery/Greenmount Mini-Mart has closed its doors, but not by choice.
The store in the 1900 block of Greenmount Ave in East Baltimore closed on Wednesday after police padlocked the doors.
The Padlock Order comes after numerous incidents have occurred at the business.
- February 17, 2017: Police raided the store and seized marijuana, synthetic marijuana or 'spice', scales, and money related to drug sales.
- April 1, 2017: Officers came to the store again and arrested two people after they found marijuana, 'spice', numerous packages of drugs, scales, and money related to drugs.
- July 16, 2017: Officers were at the business after reports of an armed robbery. After further investigation police found there had been a violent fight involving a handgun, machete, and a pole.
This store is now the second padlock order issued by police commissioner Kevin Davis.
