Public viewings for Cummings, D'Alesandro III expected to cause heavy traffic Wednesday

BALTIMORE (WMAR) — A public viewing for Congressman Elijah Cummings and the funeral for former Baltimore Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro III, is expected to cause heavy traffic throughout Baltimore on Wednesday.

The viewing for Cummings will be held at Morgan State University's Murphy Fine Arts Center on Argonne Drive from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will be followed by a public tribute service from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The following roadways surrounding Morgan State University will be significantly impacted during those times:

Hillen Road
Coldspring Lane
Argonne Drive
Stadium Drive

Then nearby, in the 700 block of N. Calvert Street, a public viewing will be held for D'Alesandro at St. Ignatius Church from 9 to 10:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service.

Delays are expected from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. during the procession to Dulaney Valley.

Travelers should allow additional commute time and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
