The second-degree depraved heart murder case against Baltimore Police Officer Caesar Goodson is scheduled to begin Jan. 6 with pre-trial motions.
Goodson, 45, was driving the police van in which Freddie Gray suffered a fatal injury after being arrested in April. His death a week later set off days of unrest in Baltimore.
Goodson is the second of six Baltimore Police officers to be tried for Gray’s death. The trial of the first officer, William Porter, ended in a hung jury two weeks ago. Porter’s second trial is now scheduled for June.
Jury selection for Goodson is scheduled to begin on Jan. 11.
