BALTIMORE — New exhibits are coming to the Port Discovery Children's Museum in downtown Baltimore and on Friday they finally kicked-off construction.

Come Spring, kids will be able to play in two new immersive exhibits, the Port Exhibit and SkyClimber. The Port Exhibit will feature a massive interactive ship where kids can discover how products come here from around the world, and learn math, science, social, and problem solving skills. The SkyClimber will replace the current KidWorks Exhibit and will encourage kids to get active, use problem-solving skills, and take risks in a safe environment.

In addition to the exhibits, other museum improvements are being done including a new lobby, new nursing area, more family seating areas, renovated lunch room and restrooms.

Theses new exhibits mark the museum's most ambitious renovation since they opened their doors in 1998.

A timeline for the completion of the project has not been released, but officials with the museum say they will be announced as they are further along in the construction project.
