One person killed, multiple injured in crosstown shootings

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police are investigating multiple shootings across the city.

On the city's east side, officers were called to the 600 block of Wyanoak Avenue in Pen Lucy at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday for a shooting.

On scene, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. The first victim was shot in his head and was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to the department, the second man was shot in his leg and groin. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Just after 4:30 p.m., on the west side, police were notified about a shooting in the 1600 block of N. Smallwood Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 72 year-old woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest area. Officials said she was conscious and alert when taken to the hospital.
