BALTIMORE — Catholic Charities hosted a ribbon-cutting, open house, and party to welcome residents and members of the community to their new Safe Streets location in Brooklyn-Curtis Bay.

Catholic Charities sites work to prevent violence and connect high-risk individuals in the community while linking residents to services.

"Brooklyn is the most violent police post in Baltimore City. More gun violence, more gun deaths take place in this neighborhood. We believe that Safe Streets and our program of violence interruption can make a difference. We can save lives and stop shootings," said Bill McCarthy, Executive Director.

The new Safe Street site is at 423 East Patapsco Avenue.
