The NCAA has awarded Morgan State University a $887,700 grant to help student-athletes graduate on time.

The Accelerating Academic Success Program Comprehensive Grant will be distributed over a three-year period to support Morgan's efforts to meet the requirements of the Division I Academic Performance Program, which was developed to ensure schools provide an environment that supports education while enhancing the ability of student-athletes to earn a degree.

The funds will be used to increase academic support services staffing and space, technology upgrades (software and hardware), career planning, professional development and the increased availability of summer financial aid for student-athletes.

Morgan is one of six Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to receive funding, including Coppin State University who was awarded $85,000.
