Prosecutors in Philadelphia have reduced the charges against a 20-year-old Morgan State University student accused of killing a well-known real estate developer.

Michael White is now charged with third-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter. He had been charged with first-degree murder.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner says video of the fight between White and Sean Schellenger is what lead his office to reduce the charges. That video has not been made public at this time.

White is accused of stabbing Schellenger during a fight near Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia in July. White was delivering food on his bike before the stabbing. He turned himself into police days later.

White lives in Philadelphia and goes to school at Morgan State University in Baltimore.

Krasner says his office could reduce the charges even more over the coming weeks.
