Mayor Catherine Pugh announced the re-opening of a BP gas station in west Baltimore after years of crime.
In 2016, the crime-filled business was padlocked and shutdown in an effort to attract less violence at the corner of Windsor Mill Road and Forest Park Avenue.

Police Commissioner Kevin Davis was also in attendance at the morning announcement and shared his thoughts on new changes for the business:
"The police department, the city and the community got together and shut this place down, sent them a huge message, a huge wake up call to get responsible, better ownership that cares about this community and they did that."
Davis added that the business could face another shutdown due to several pending cases.
The newly reopened business, now under new management includes a Citiwatch camera that will be used to combat criminal activity in the community.
