Mayor-elect Catherine Pugh to be inaugurated Dec. 6

Catherine Pugh will be inaugurated as mayor of Baltimore on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The day will begin with the inauguration ceremony at City Hall beginning at 11 a.m.

Pugh will host four community receptions throughout the city following the ceremony.

  • 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Middle Branch Rowing Club, located at 3301 Waterview Ave.
  • 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the DuBurns Center, located at 3100 Boston St.
  • 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Humanim, located at 1701 N. Gay St.
  • 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Cylburn Arboretum, located at 4915 Greenspring Ave.

On Pugh's inauguration website, she wrote a letter addressed to the public.

"But what I’m most excited about is the next morning – when I can get to work serving the people of Baltimore as mayor," she said. "This is our city. These are our neighborhoods. We must move our city forward.

"I promise I will work day and night on behalf of all of the citizens of our city, but I need you to work with me. We all have a responsibility to make this a community where each person, each family and, especially, each child can thrive."

Pugh will hold an event, Our Whole City - Catherine Pugh Inaugural Celebration Of Baltimore, following the community receptions. The celebration will feature music and light refreshments. It is being held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hilton Baltimore, located at 401 W. Pratt St.

Tickets to the event cost $100 each and must be purchased in advance.
