Kevin Plank's real estate team unveiled the master plan for Under Armour's global headquarters at Port Convington Thursday.
The area purchased by the Under Armour CEO includes Nick's Fish House, a Walmart and a former Sam's Club turned into offices. Plank plans to use the space as a global headquarters as well as destination for the public to dine, shop and relax.
Port Convington will be home to various retail businesses as well as the possibility of entertainment and small scale hospitality.
At Thursday's meeting, Caroline Paff, of Sagamore Development Company, said the new project should invoke a positive impact, not just in South Baltimore, but throughout the city. She outlined some main goals of the project:
- Create a sense of arrival and make it a destination
- Make strong connections between uses, ecology and people
- Induce multi-modal behaviors through great design and investment in the public realm
- Include multiple points of view to ensure diversity and plan resiliency
- Innovate
Details and specifics about individual elements are set to be released over time.
