In honor of National Bike to Work Day, Marylanders geared up for a good cause.

In Baltimore, the Department of Transportation and other organizations celebrated at War Memorial Plaza. It was the city’s 21st annual Bike to Work Day.

In Howard County, local organizations hosted a “Bike to Work Day” event at Whole Foods Market in Columbia. Participants received refreshments, giveaways, biking-related information and prizes. The event ran from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.

National Bike to Work Day was created to promote bicycling as a fun and healthy mode of transportation.
