BALTIMORE — Celebrations have looked a little different this year, but families, friends, and colleagues are still finding ways to make their loved ones feel special.

Maryland Auto employees surprised their executive director Mark McCurdy with a retirement celebration drive-by party.

McCurdy was appointed as the executive director in 2015. His colleagues commend him for leading the company through a period of change and being a voice for the voiceless.

“Of course I’m looking forward to taking a few weeks off and then I want to start working on establishing a business that will help others communicate like we’ve tried to communicate here at Maryland Auto to involve companies from board of directors all the way down to the regular line employees to mesh ideas."

Maryland Auto board members also presented him with a governor’s citation and dedication of the company’s executive conference room in his name.
