Citiwatch camera operators originally noticed a man selling prescription drugs near Lexington Market.
When officers arrived on the scene to arrest him, 24-year-old Benjamin Watson began to flee and tossed a handgun as he ran. Police say after a chase, they were able to recover the handgun and later arrest Watson.
Officials say the handgun, a loaded revolver was submitted as evidence along with a pill bottle containing unknown prescription drugs.
Watson has been charged with handgun and narcotics violations.
