Lucky students get free glasses

Posted

60 local students received free glasses, thanks to Vision To Learn. On Tuesday, May 10, the company hosted its first-ever Baltimore event at Hampstead Hill Academy.

Vision To Learn partnered with Baltimore Health, Baltimore City Schools, the Casey Foundation and the Abell Foundation to bring free exams and glasses to students in Baltimore schools. This school system is the biggest district that the company has ever brought an event to.

Vision To Learn brings mobile vision clinics to children around the country. It has given out over 24,000 free glasses. A UCLA study discovered that boys' math grades went up by 8 percent a year after receiving glasses from Vision To Learn.
