BALTIMORE — Rising coronavirus numbers means less, or no family for Thanksgiving next week.
IND alumni are making sure one community, still has a good holiday.
The school's alumni association spent the day handing out full Thanksgiving dinners to families.
They raised more than $5,000 to buy the dinners along with other groceries for 80 families in the Latrobe Housing Projects.
“We're not going to go away. The alumni association will still be here for the people of Latrobe and for girls in Baltimore City. It's a part of our new mission statement that we will continue helping the girls in Baltimore City for as long as we can.”
The dinners included a frozen turkey and all the fixings.
While IND closed over the summer, its alumni want to make sure its mission of helping others continues to live on.
