Last City Council meeting with veteran group

Posted at 11:30 PM, Dec 05, 2016

There were lots of hugs and thank yous at Monday's City Council Meeting.

Most members of the Council will be leaving their posts, replaced by seven freshman democratic members.

Mary Pat Clarke of the city's fifth district was re-elected this year and will serve as the council's senior member with the most experience.

"We have a new class coming in young people, eight brand-new people and I have a great deal of optimism about the spirit and energy that they'll bring," she said.

The newest City Council members will meet this Thursday.
