BALTIMORE — A new playground is being built at Maree G. Farring Elementary School in South Baltimore.
Several groups are involved in the project, including KaBOOM!
Volunteers from the neighborhood, Under Armour, Fund for Educational Excellence, and Baltimore Children & Youth Fund were cleaning the area Thursday and getting it ready for construction on Saturday.
"We're digging the playground holes, unloading our playground delivery, cutting wood for some side projects that we're doing," said Jacob Stachler with KaBOOM! "We're building some cubbies and a little shade pergola for the school, getting everything ready for a really great build."
The whole project is expected to take six hours.
Volunteers are still needed for Saturday. No registration is required, anyone can go to the school from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and lend a hand.
