Nothing is better than making a kid smile and thanks to some great volunteers, a group of kids have a new place to play in Baltimore.

A got to work Thursday morning building a new playground at Sarah's Hope, which is an emergency shelter for families. KaBoom! led the project with help from BGE, the Baltimore Fire Department and St. Vincent's De Paul.

The volunteer's hard work did not go unnoticed. Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake stopped by to thank them.

"When you do something like this, you build a great playground, you create more green space, I think your giving hope to our communities that really need it," Rawlings-Blake said.

KaBoom! is a non-profit organization that has been making a major impact in Charm City over the past year building play areas for kids.
