BALTIMORE — On Thursday, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation announced that the intersection of Walker Avenue and Chinquapin Parkway will soon close for the installation of a sewer line.

Starting on or around July 7, the intersection of Walker Avenue and Chinquapin Parkway will be closed to traffic, with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Walker Avenue will be closed to traffic between The Alameda and Northwood Drive; and Chinquapin Parkway will close between Gittings and Walker Avenues. Signs have been placed in the area to notify motorists of the closure and detour signs will also be posted.

During construction, local access will be maintained for area residents.

Construction is expected to take approximately six to eight weeks to complete, weather permitting. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
