The weather is starting to cool down, students are going back to school, and that means Friday night football and other fall sports are right around the corner.

As those student athletes are gearing up for their fall sports, parents are hoping to win big on savings.

A store in Baltimore is selling gently used sporting goods to help families save money on the cost of equipment. Play it Again Sports has hundreds of used items like youth football girdles and cleats at half price or less.

You can also look to new apps to help save on game day essentials. Local trading apps like Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up, and Let Go feature used sporting items.

Unlike craigslist, with these apps you can check the seller's profile.

Experts say its still a good idea to meet the seller in a safe location, like outside a grocery store or police station.
