A group calling themselves Standing4Kaepernick assembled in Solo Gibbs Park near M&T Bank Stadium ahead of the Baltimore Ravens home opener game Sunday morning. Organizers say they are asking the Ravens to “come to the table to ensure the best Baltimore that we can get.”

Protestors say that the NFL should have supported Colin Kaepernick who “stood up to bring attention to critical issues in our communities.”

The three dozen protesters were planning to march from the park to the Ray Lewis statue outside the stadium to meet others rallying. Organizers said this was part of a national movement.

Kaepernick has been outspoken on issues of racial and social justice. The free-agent quarterback became a polarizing figure among NFL fans for his decision to sit, and then kneel, during the national anthem last season to protest police brutality.

He remains unsigned after opting out of his contract with the 49ers.
