BALTIMORE — Baltimore's only Life Plan Community is adding more than 50 new apartments to the city.

On Tuesday, there was a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate Roland Park Place's second phase of the community's major redevelopment and construction project.

A new eight-story building with 58 luxury apartments will be built with several amenities.

"We'll be adding a new community room on the eighth floor with beautiful views of the city skyline, and a salon on the first floor and just expanding the community that is available here for those who are looking to be close to the city when they retire,” said Becki Bees, Roland Park Places Vice President of Marketing & Community Life.

Seven percent of the new apartments have already been sold. Construction is expected to continue through spring of 2021.
