Governor Larry Hogan will be featured as a keynote speaker at Morgan State University's honors convocation in April.

The 2016 honors convocation is an annual event that recognizes students who have excelled in their academics.

Morgan's President, Dr. David Wilson announced Wednesday afternoon that the Maryland governors attendance will be symbolic to the hard-working students about success:

"We are honored to have Governor Hogan join with us in this celebration of the academic achievements of these remarkable students. He Has enjoyed a record of success in his own life and because of his inspirational story and background, as well as his commitment to public service, we believe his remarks will resonate with a student body that is looking to become the next generation of leaders."

Hogan will deliver his keynote address at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at the Murphy Fine Arts Center Gilliam Concert Hall.
