A group of Baltimore boys are sporting new 'do's for the new school year.
Local barbers teamed up with the Kids Safe Zone in West Baltimore to give at least 100 free haircuts to those in need. But the haircut means more than just looking good.
Ericka Alston-Buck, director of Kids Safe Zone, said, "It's hard to put into words what happens to a little boy when he get a new haircut. They not only look better, they feel better and it's very important to make certain our kids feel good about themselves. Everything we do here at Kids Safe Zone if about making these kids feel better about themselves, to show them they matter, to show them that their valuable and their worthy."
Kids Safe Zone will also host its 2nd annual Back-To-School festival on Friday. From 2 to 6 p.m., they will give away 500 fully stuffed backpacks with enough school supplies for the entire school year.
