Former Vice President Joe Biden to deliver keynote address at Morgan State's spring commencement

Former Vice President Joe Biden will serve as the keynote speaker at Morgan State University's 141st  spring commencement in May. 

The University's President Dr. David Wilson announced Tuesday morning, that Biden will deliver the keynote address on May 20 at Hughes Stadium located on Morgan's campus.

That same day, White House Correspondent  and Morgan alum April Ryan will be awarded with a Doctor of Laws. Ryan is the newest contributor to CNN. 

In addition to Ryan, Keynote Speaker Joseph R. Biden Jr., and philanthropists C. Sylvia Brown and Sheldon Goldseker will be honored with Doctor of Public Service degrees. 

"The honored guests who will attend our commencement this year  those on the dais as well as those in the stands  have the same commitment to social advancement and equity that the founders of Morgan had in 1867," Wilson continued. "And now, as then, Morgan is sending its graduates into the world prepared to provide good leadership and meet the great challenges of the future, said Dr. David Wilson, Morgan State University President."

Morgan State has awarded more than 50,000 degrees in it's 150th year history and more than 1,200 students will receive their degrees during the 2017 spring commencement.
