Firefighter, family hurt in W. Baltimore blaze

A family and a firefighter were hurt during a blaze in three vacant rowhomes in west Baltimore Tuesday night.

Fire officials said units responded to the 2800 block of Clifton Avenue around 6 p.m. for a house fire.

When fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the front of two rowhomes and flames in the back of both houses.

Once inside, firefighters found flames on the second floor.

One family was injured, officials said, possibly from heat exhaustion. 

A firefighter was also injured suffering from heat exhaustion.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
