Fire investigators determine cause in 2-alarm Lanvale Towers fire

Baltimore City Fire Department investigators determine cause in 2-alarm fire at Lanvale Towers. 

Investigators said that the fire was cause by an "improperly discarded cigarette material"  found inside a trash shoot on the eighth floor.

City Fire Chief Niles R. Ford said, "It was unfortunate that the residents of Lanvale Towers were without a place to stay. Fortunately, no one was injured and everyone was able to escape safely."

More than 170 residents were displaced from high-rise apartment  building on April 16. 

The American Red Cross, Baltimore Housing and building management assisted in  providing  resources for all residents.
