BALTIMORE — Robert McClintock is one of our great Baltimore artists. He rescues many living room walls in this town. He also rescued a dog.

A decade ago he pulled a pit bull off a back alley. His wife Sue would name the dog Super Lou. For the next decade Super Lou went everywhere in Baltimore. He would sit at his dad's feet and watch him make magic inside his studio.

On Thursday, the rug is bare, the bowl is empty and the couch doesn’t have his imprint.

Super Lou died Wednesday of cancer. Long live Super Lou, you were Baltimore’s dog.
