BALTIMORE — The suspect in a workplace shooting from earlier this month has been arrested.

Police say 33-year-old Cornell Slater is a suspect from a December 5 shooting at the Restaurant Depot, but he was originally arrested for another reason.

On Wednesday, police say an Anne Arundel County police officer pulled over Slater after seeing he was driving a car with a stolen license plate in the 500 block of Realm Court. Officers then conducted a warrant check and saw he was wanted for first-degree attempted murder in connection to the December shooting.

On December 5 around 4:50 a.m., officers responded to the Restaurant Depot on Annapolis Road in Baltimore for a possible active shooter. Two men reportedly came into the business and tried to rob it and ended up shooting an employee.

Detectives soon learned one of the suspects was a former employee of the Restaurant Depot, Cornell Slater, and put out a warrant for his arrest.

Police have not released any information on the alleged second suspect in the shooting.
