BALTIMORE — His name and face will live on in Baltimore.

On the one-year anniversary of Congressman Elijah Cumming's passing, a mural was dedicated in his memory.

The mural painted by Adam Stab with Billie Holiday Project for Liberation Arts at Johns Hopkins, is on a wall next to Union Baptist Church.

It reads -- Never Let Anyone Define You -- a phrase commonly used by Cummings.

“We wanted to make certain that inside the community the heroes of that community are remembered. It's part of ancestry remembry and we wanted to make certain you can walk these streets, you can live your life, you can make contributions that are worldwide right from where you are. Elijah Cummings showed us that,” said Union Baptist Church pastor, Rev. Al Hathaway, Sr.

Cummings wife, Maya Cummings, Congressman Kweisi Mfume and other close friends attended the dedication ceremony on Saturday.
