Baltimore's Confederate symbols are going under the microscope.

Today, a special commission charged with reviewing all of the Confederate monuments in the city is meeting for the first time.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake created the panel after people started pushing for Robert E. Lee Park to be renamed , and have General Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson statutes taken down.

Over the next six months, the panel will review all the city-owned Confederate monuments and make their recommendations for their future in Baltimore.

There will be a public hearing in December.
