BALTIMORE, Md — City officials introduced a new resurfacing program on Wednesday.

In an effort to improve roadways in Baltimore, the city's Department of Transportation will use its new paving machine to resurface neighborhood streets. Crews will also work on roadway construction projects.

"We have a had a pretty rough, wet winter and we have a number of streets that need repaving and remilling so I am looking forward to watching all of this new work begin," said Councilwoman Sharon Green Middleton. "I represent the sixth district and there's a lot of work that needs to be done over there as well."

Ex officio Mayor Jack Young says one of his top priorities is to focus on projects that impact the everyday lives of city residents.

The resurfacing program started in March.
