Baltimore City Hall will be lit in blue in honor of Mother Teresa’s canonization.

Pope Francis will canonize Mother Teresa as a saint Sunday in Rome during mass.

Catholicism has an important role to the history of Baltimore.

John Carroll was the first Roman Catholic bishop in the United States and first archbishop of Baltimore.

The city is also the home of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The lighting is set to occur around 7:30 p.m.
