BALTIMORE — A Northeast Baltimore school is forced to close early for the summer after a two-alarm fire erupted Saturday night.

It happened at the Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys in the 5500 block of Midwood Avenue.

Arriving crews found heavy fire showing from the second floor of the two story building, and took nearly two hours to contain the flames.

There were no reported injuries.

The damage, however, was substantial enough for City Schools to close the building down for summer break, four days earlier than the originally scheduled last day of school on June 20.
