Baltimore City Council President, Jack Young and City Council member, Brandon Scott, are calling for the Baltimore Police Department to turn over the investigation into Detective Sean Suiter's murder to the FBI.
The two sent a letter to Commissioner Kevin Davis that reads in part:
"As Baltimore collectively grieves the murder of Det. Suiter, and authorities continue the search for his killer, our city is looking for answers.
To that end, we urge you to take a step back and turn over the current investigation into Det. Suiter's murder to the Federal Bureau of Investigation."
The two council members say they believe the Baltimore Police Department is working tirelessly to find Detective Suiter's killer. Young and Scott say turning the investigation over to the FBI would allow members of the Baltimore Police homicide division the chance to properly mourn Detective Suiter.
At this time, Commissioner Davis has not responded.
