Greater Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church held a service in honor of Ebonee Baker on Sunday. She was killed last week when a school bus slammed into the MTA bus she was driving.
Baker's pastor reminded the congregation that grief is something that needs to be felt and accepted.
"Every loss needs to be grieved. From our favorite person to our favorite thing, it all is lost and it needs to be grieved," said Reverend Dr. Reginald Thomas, Sr. "It just reminds us that we should not delay in expressing our love for one another. We think we're going to have another chance, but sometimes later, it never comes."
Church-goers wore purple in honor of Baker's love for the Baltimore Ravens.
