BALTIMORE — Parents lined up outside of the University of Maryland-Baltimore Community Engagement Center Saturday to snag brand new toys for as little as $1.

Neighbors from West Baltimore can get all their Christmas shopping done thanks to a partnership with UMB and The Foundry Church’s Christmas store.

Brand new toys and gifts that were donated can be purchased for anywhere from $1 to $5.

“For a lot of our families, this is the way they can buy Christmas for their kids. Sometimes you have to choose at Christmas time, do I buy food, or do I buy gifts? This way gifts are lower cost so they can be able to do both.” said Lindsay Ferguson, director of operations at The Foundry.

The Christmas store will be open again next Saturday from noon to 4:00 p.m.
