Drivers will encounter lane closures on and near Charles Street during the next few weeks due to sidewalk construction, the Baltimore City Department of Transportation said.
Starting Monday, the right, northbound lane of Charles Street will be closed between Barre and Conway Streets from July 16 to Monday, July 23. Bus stops along that stretch of Charles Street will be temporarily closed during the construction.
Also, the right turn lane of eastbound Conway Street will be closed east of Charles Street over to Light Street from Monday, July 23 to Friday, August 3.
Construction schedules may change due to weather conditions or other variables. Motorists who drive through the area should be alert and aware of changes to traffic patterns and are advised to find other routes.
