Central Avenue to reopen in Harbor East; traffic along Lancaster and Aliceanna Streets restored

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore City Department of Transportation announced that Central Avenue in Harbor East is fully reopened to traffic.

Construction of the Central Avenue Bridge to Harbor Point is now complete, therefore, two lanes of traffic between Dock and Aliceanna Streets opened Friday at around noon.

Residents and visitors in Harbor East will soon be able to travel along Central Avenue from Aliceanna Street to Harbor Point in both directions. In addition road construction activities in the vicinity of the bridge have been completed, so normal traffic patterns will be restored in Harbor East along the following streets:

  • Central Avenue between Lancaster and Aliceanna Streets
  • Lancaster Street between S. Eden and S. Exeter Streets
  • Aliceanna Street between S. Eden and S. Exeter Streets

Pedestrian walkways along Central Avenue, at the intersections of Lancaster and Aliceanna Streets, will also reopen and individuals will be able to utilize dedicated bike lanes along this stretch of roadway.
