BALTIMORE, Md. — More than 7,000 care pouches were delivered to first responders in the Baltimore area on Wednesday.

The pouches were hand packed during CSX and Operation Gratitude's assembly day at the B&O Railroad Museum on Saturday.

They contain personal care products, snacks, handwritten letters, and items of gratitude including paracord bracelets.

"So in addition to the M&Ms that are in there and the 5-hour Energy shot if you have a late shift, think about what that means and what it represents," said Kevin Schmiegel, CEO of Operation Gratitude.

This year Operation Gratitude will deliver more than 525,000 care packages, one for every minute of the year.
