Officials are investigating a collision involving an MTA bus and two cars that left several people injured Monday morning.

Baltimore City Fire crews responded to East Belvedere Avenue and Hillen Road in Baltimore just after 10 a.m. At least four people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries, according to police.

Officials say that approximately 35 to 40 people were aboard the bus, of which, 15 refused treatment and were released from the scene.

Three people from the bus were transported to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. One person from one of the vehicles involved was also transported to the hospital for urgent care but suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Baltimore City Fire Department says the Maryland Transit Administration sent an additional bus to the scene to transport the 17 remaining bus passengers to area hospitals for non-emergency care.

The Office of Emergency Management advised motorists to avoid the area.

Baltimore City Police are still investigating.
